Leonardo

leoInitial speculative piece for ASDA 3DME product.  The idea was for kids to be posed with the turtles.  This particular version of Leonardo is based on the 2014 movie, but ultimately Nickelodeon decided on the 2012 TV series version.

Keaton Batman

There was something about Tim Burton’s Batman that was just so aesthetically spot on…

Gotham City, with all its weird Germanic architecture and constantly miserable, dark weather.  The Batmobile is one of the best looking vehicles ever made. And possibly the most iconic elements of the film, were of course the antagonist and protagonist… Jack Nicholson’s Joker and Micheal Keaton’s Batman.

This piece is still a work in progress. The cowl needs cleaning up, the face needs more detail and obviously everything needs retopping and a UV layout. Furthermore I plan to have the him done in his entirety, including full body, as soon as possible.

I love these two… so let me just make it clear, the Hodge Twins come across as totally honest & open minded and usually dispence solid advice, based on their genuine opinion of things they have tried themselves.  Plus they are hilarious.  Even if your not interested in bodybuilding they are well worth subscribing to.

2:10 “He’s got those even abs (but) I’ve got fucked up abs”

So, lord Keith has symetrical abs and lord Kevin has asymetrical abs. They go on to state it’s genetic and nothing can be done about it.  This is THE de facto wisdom found on every fitness website I’ve ever visited. However, the giant issue with the statment in this particular circumstance is that they are identical twins…. ie genetically idetical…. therefore NOT GENETIC.

They have almost identical weight lifting regimes and past jobs etc, so training wouldnt appear to be the cause.  I have no more info than that unfortunately.  I just wanted it on the record somewhere, in case anyone else had wondered, that the ab symetry is genetic line is bs.

On the off chance there is a way of aligning them please let me know!

I’ve had many a rant on the subject of JJ Abram’s complete failure to understand what Star Trek is.  Star Trek is a series of morality plays and a social commentary. Exploring subjects such as history, culture, morality and philosophy.  This Youtubers comment on the matter is both clever and devastatingly depressing…

Maybe the JJ Star Treks are actually social commentary? Turning something that was once complex, thoughtful and deep into a shallow, shiny, disgrace.

Should you ever want to do this slightly obscure thing, here’s how!

  1. Get Meshlab (Don’t worry, it’s free!)
  2. Have ready the vertex coloured model and a copy that has been UV mapped
  3. Import both into Meshlab
  4. Filters > Texture > Transfer Vertex Attributes to Texture (between 2 meshes) menu
  5. Select the vertex coloured model as the source and the UV mapped model as the Target.  Set the resolution you want and check Overwrite Target Mesh Texture (Meshlab sometimes seems unhappy if you don’t)options
  6. Click apply

After meshlab has complained a bit the texture file should appear in the same directory as the model file.

Done!

In religion and politics people’s beliefs and convictions are in almost every case gotten at second-hand, and without examination, from authorities who have not themselves examined the questions at issue but have taken them at second-hand from other non-examiners, whose opinions about them were not worth a brass farthing.
